Whippoorwill Oakesia (Whippoorwill Red Oak x Whippoorwill Larissa)
We are very grateful to the late Mary Jean Vasiloff for allowing us to 
purchase Whippoorwill Oakesia (2011) for our breeding program. Oakesia is a one-of-a-kind blend of solid Morgan breeding from a program that has produced Morgans who have successfully competed at the highest level in dressage—Grand Prix.
Whippoorwill Oakesia’s dam line is exceptional with both her dam, Whippoorwill Larissa, and her grand dam, Whippoorwill Locket, having produced Grand Prix dressage horses: Whippoorwill Dorado and Whippoorwill Ebony. In addition, Oakesia is linebred to Blackwood Correll, the sire of Whippoorwill Ebony as well as the sire of two multi-time Morgan national reining champions: Whippoorwill Newmoon and Painter’s Pine Ridge.
But a sport horse is more than an outstanding pedigree. In addition to three lovely, expressive and correct gaits, including a bold, ground-covering canter, Oakesia is a solid mare with correct conformation and excellent feet and legs. She is both built and bred to produce outstanding Morgans, and her first four foals (Gladheart Harmony [2016], Gladheart Shaniko [2019], Gladheart Serenade [2021], and Gladheart Trillium [2022]) by our stallion have not disappointed. Aside from their considerable physical talent, her babies have the sweet, sensible disposition that Whippoorwill breeding is known for. Combined with the talent, trainability and personality of our stallion Black Harris, the foals are exceptional. We are keeping her 2022 filly, Gladheart Trillium, as a potential broodmare. Oakesia will be bred back to Gladheart Black Harris in 2023.
