AMHA Open Competition AdvertisementGladheart Black Harris (2005) is our black stallion by the AMHA Sport Horse Award recipient DJJJ Ebony Gold out of our foundation mare, Rogue's Midnight Melody.

Even as a colt, "Maus" demonstrated remarkable strength, balance and the overall athleticism critical for sport.  He has a natural overstep at the walk and a ground covering, expressive canter and has received praise for his lateral work and his developing passage/piaffe. Maus gives the impression that the collection required for upper level dressage will be easy.

Dressage Today Baroque 2012Currently shown in open competition through Third Level, Maus has brought home dressage high point awards and end-of-the-year championships, as well as earning is AMHA Open Competition Bronze Medallion. Maus was also featured in the AMHA Open Competition Program promotions, as well as the 2012 USDF Dressage Today "Baroque" Pictorial, and was one of the dressage demonstration horses at the 2016 Northwest Equine Expo.

Gladheart Black HarrisMaus’ ability is not by accident. His sire, the late DJJJ Ebony Gold, was a versatile and talented Morgan sporthorse: placing 4th in the 1991 100-day North American Warmblood stallion testing, and ranked 19th nationally at USCTA Training Level in 1998.  On Maus’ dam side, his half-brother, Gladheart Linhawk, has successfully shown through I-1 in open competition and is schooling Grand Prix. It is difficult to find a more solid, proven Morgan sporthorse pedigree.

Gladheart Black Harris rollbackRich in traditional Brunk breeding, Black Harris has multiple lines to the "golden" Flyhawk x Sentola cross through Stetson, Warhawk, The Airacobra and Top Flight. He turns heads with his unmistakable, classic Morgan type and outstanding athleticism. This stallion has the ability and conformation necessary for a sporthorse, as well as having the breed-type and beauty that identifies him as all-Morgan—traits that he has passed on to his foals (Video 2).

As has been traditional for Morgan horses, Gladheart Black Harris takes his name from historic roots. The original Moses “Black” Harris was a renowned Mountain Man who guided wagon trains over the Oregon Trail and eventually built a cabin not far from our farm.

Black Harris has produced athletic, personable, correct foals when crossed on a variety of bloodlines. He will be standing to a limited book of mares in 2018 at a breeding fee of $900, cooled shipped/on-site A.I. only. All breeds are welcome. Please contact us for more information.
